Hello, my name is Jose Tovar and I am a man trying to live intentionally as a husband to a beautiful woman, a father of four amazing and crazy boys and contributing member to my nation. I am 45 years old, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a former firefighter paramedic. I believe that we are capable of so much more than we think we are and that so many of us are not living up to our full potential. This stems from a lack of personal leadership, from not taking the time to evaluate ourselves, implement changes we know we need and transform ourselves and lives into the change we want. I am helping people learn lifesaving skills such as CPR, first aid, leadership and growing our faith.
MF1A- My Family's First Aid- it starts with each one of us, individually. We should be leading and serving within our families, faiths and nations. We should be examples of personal responsibility and endurance which drives us to be better today than we were yesterday. We should be examples of people who are
seeking to better the emotional, intellectual, and physical aspects of ourselves. Examples of service to that which is greater than ourselves.
Our aim is to build up individuals, to become more competent, capable and resilient in order to be better leaders and serve the people our communities. Exhibiting constructive leadership, lifesaving skills, CPR, and first aid.
Our mission is to provide the equipment, education, training and support to individuals in order to examine ourselves, implement changes and transform ourselves, faiths, families and nation. We should all be capable of leading ourselves, others, and saving a life with CPR and first aid.
Leadership
Discipline
Humility
Courage
HEART- Where our intellect, emotion, and morals collide with our true nature. Our emotional being.
One of the harder aspects for us to take responsibility for, correct and direct in a constructive manner.
MIND- The pursuit of knowledge. Our intellect and consciousness.
We must not settle, we must constantly push the bar higher and keep learning.
SOUL- Our spiritual aspect. We view this as serving something greater than yourself. For some, this is simply a difference between selfishness and selflessness.
STRENGTH- Being physically strong, ability to withstand great pressure or force.
An aspect that is so very important to being healthier and happier, foundational! We often think of this aspect in the physical sense. However, I challenge you to see the strength and resiliency of your heart, mind and soul as direct result from your pursuit of physical strength.
That which we believe in and serve, which greater than us. For me, my faith is Christianity.
The people we live with or are related to.
The people who we consider as friends, community, neighbors, work associates and the people outside of our home and family.
MF1A is My Family’s First Aid, it is being a leader and serving, yourself and others in order to become a positive example for others to follow. Leading and serving in order to ultimately glorify God.
MF1A is the mindset of choosing to be intentional about being a leader of and in your family, faith, and nation. MF1A is being the first aid, initial help and guidance for your family, faith and nation in whatever comes your way, wherever you find yourselves. To step out into life and lead your family, come alongside them and serve them. Ultimately, glorifying God through living out the greatest commandment. Mark 12:30-31.
Too many people simply exist, go through the motions in their current and default positions in life; I am a man because I was born a male, I am a husband because I am married, I am a father because I have kids. These people/this mindset may do a good job but are they living up to their greatest potential, helping others become better and live out their best potential.
-----------------------------
To be MF1A we must strive to become better today than we were yesterday. We must find and
make time to train and grow our heart, mind, soul and strength through intentional actions and habits. We must do this daily, with others and ultimately, in a relationship with God.
We must look after and seek to better the heart, mind, soul and strength of our families in order to glorify God. Helping them and guiding them to become better today than they were yesterday.
----------------------------
MF1A is an idea, stemming from the greatest commandment. To love God with all of
our heart, soul, mind and strength, Mark 12:30. The vertical aspect of the cross. Also, to love our neighbor as ourselves, Mark 12:31. The horizontal aspect of the cross.
An idea that we cannot be the people that God is calling us to be if we don’t have a relationship with Him which we live out amongst and with others. A mindset that we must identify what the heart, soul, mind and strength are and train these.

THE MINDSET
Choosing versus simply existing.
Realizing that there are two types of choices in life; choose to be part of the
problem/apathy or choose to be part of the solution/work. Between these two choices exists a line, the line. The difference between these two choices comes down to your mindset, how you orient yourself, your heart, mind, soul and strength. What are you ultimately working for, to serve yourself or to serve God and others?
On both sides of the line, exists life and all of the highs and lows of life.
On the side of the problem/apathy, there is lack of intentional action in your life to become better and help those around you to become better. You simply exist and allow others to dictate to you how to live, you don’t lead, yourself or anyone else. You are part of the problem, serving yourself only.
On the side of the solution/work you are a leader, of yourself, your faith, family and nation. You choose to step up to the base of and into the mountain of life. You choose to do the work, to serve others in order to make life the best it can be. You choose to lead from the top, the bottom or from within. To lead and serve wherever you are, with what you have, and whom you are with. Ultimately, you choose to glorify God.
What side of the line are you living on?
